purpose & description

I have to be a personal attendant for a wedding this summer, and I was going to wear this vintage dress. I like the dress, but something about it plus hte belt maybe makes me look chunky? What cn I do to change that?

I definately get what you were going for! Try some strappy, [extremely high] heels, wedges if neccessary, to give you some height and make the dress look more slimming. Also, I am anti-fake bake, but I suggest going a few shades darker for this dress. Otherwise, it'll just wash you out.

I think you needed more height with this outfit. You definitely don't look chunky but a taller, thin heel would make your legs look longer.

its too much your skin color it doesnt give you a natural glow or pop. nice design though

You don't look chunky. Wear it with cork wedges. I think that would look nice. The belt acutally looks cool. I wouldn't wear something like that to a wedding. If it's a day wedding and it's casual, go for it.

I think this is almost where you want it to be. I think a thicker belt and some higher shoes will do the trick. Definitely raise the belt a little higher and go soft of accessories. The dress is a great find and you're right for seeing it's potential!

I'm giving this a 5 because it has some SERIOUS potential but right now it doesn't look so good. From top to bottom, that necklace is much too long and bold for the dress. A shorter, thin gold chain with a small charm would work much better. The belt around your waist makes you look very blocky. Something a friend of mine does often is put a belt right under her boobs, around her rib cage. If it looks good on your dress, that may be a good option. Also consider getting it taken in to hug your curves. The shoes are also not good for this dress. Because of where the hem hits, flats or low heels make legs look stumpy. I suggest high (as high as you can comfortably go... well a little.. maybe a lot.. of discomfort is okay as long as you can do a sexy walk without grimacing) strappy sandals in either a gold like your belt or a beige. Also, thin gold bangles around your wrists. Paint your fingernails and toenails a bright color, like classic red, to really stand out against the dress' neutral color.

I agree. A teeny belt around the middle always makes a person look chunkier than they are, since it cuts in. Go for a wider belt. I'd also go with higher heels, the proportions aren't doing anything for your legs. I always love a higher heel with a dress that hits mid-calf.

Definitely remove the belt. It is cinching at your waste and is leaving you look a bit disproportional. Since it is an afternoon wedding, I would try adding a little more color to the outfit with shoes, or jewelry. If you are set on wearing a belt with the dress...try a chunkier belt that will leave your waste looking smaller.
